General information about the IAA PKW
For all people, who build or drive automobiles the is the IAA (International Motor Show)* the ideal meeting place. (*1) This trade fair takes place in September and takes 10 days. The balance points are amongst other things garage equipment, car clinger, tuning, accessories and special vehicles. The central target group of the IAA are car production companies, organisations, publishers, authorities and service providers. The most exhibitors come from the countrys Germany, Japan, China, Italy and Korea.The last IAA was visited by over 900.000 professional visitors from over 99 different countrys.
Since 1951, the IAA takes place in Frankfurt. In 1989, the IAA splitted into two trade fairs: IAA cars and IAA Commercial Vehicles. The last trade fair, on which the two expositions were together lists a record attendance of over 1.2 million visitors! In the year 2001 all festivities were countermanded because of the terrible terrorist attacks in New York. Over 14,000 reporter were on the IAA and reported about the incidents. A half of them were from overseas.
In the year 2007 88 world premieres have been counted (a half of them from German exhibitors); for example one of the first hybrid cars.
