Trade fairs in Hanover: Agritechnica

General information

Every second year in November the Agritechnica* takes place on the fair grounds in Hanover. (*1) This trade fair lasts four days. The Agritechnica is the world's biggest agricultural fair and it represents many interesting branches about  the subject agriculture. It deals with conservation of the countryside, crop and nurture, field work, manuring, irrigation and dehydration, plant protection, crop of corn, conservation and many more.

The number of fair visitors on the Agritechnica was in the last years more than 340.000 people. 2100 exhibitors presented their products and services.(*2) The most exhibitors came from Germany, Italy, China and Austria. There were over 90 % professional visitors.


History of the Agritechnica

For more than 120 years the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft; German Agricultural Organization) organized the trade exhibition in land and feeding.

For more than 40 years the DLG offers an agricultural price, which is important all over the world. The DLG mention is a main atrraction for trade visitors from Germany, Europe and the whole world.

1985 the AGRITECHNICA took the first time place in Frankfurt am Main.(*1) In 1995 the fair was replaced to the world wide biggest fair ground in Hanover. The new location in Hanover gave a better chance to present the modern agriculture fair.

In the last years over 340.000 visitors and 2.100 exhibitors from 36 countries came to the Agritechnica every year. The number of the overseas trade visitors was more than 71.000. Many famous market leaders of the agriculture came to the Agritechnica. On 303.000 square meters was enough place to present many products.
